Michael Hill, the creative behind English tie maker Drake’s and long time protege of Michael Drake, has a way with colour. His eye for mixing colours in subtle ways to great effect, or in decidedly un-subtle ways that are curiously wearable, means that the Drake’s range offers something unique. Drake’s colours and patterns are rich, unusual and fun, but rarely over the top or gaudy. They allow me to play with colours in ways not immediately obvious, like the rich olive stripe on this classic rep stripe tie.
